How to check your battery yourself
Open Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health. Apple’s own line is that below about 80 percent the battery is worn. Random shutdowns with charge still showing, a phone that gets hot on the charger, or a screen that’s starting to lift are also battery signs.
Why not just buy a new phone?
If the phone does everything else you need, a battery is a fraction of the cost of a new one and usually brings back a full day of use. If the phone is on its last legs for other reasons too, we’ll tell you that straight.

Can I wait while you do it?
Yes. Most swaps take about an hour, so people grab lunch on Dairy Road and come back.
Will Battery Health show 100 percent after?
Newer iPhones can show a notice for a battery that isn’t installed by Apple, and some won’t report a health percentage. The battery still works normally. We tell you up front.
