What to do in the first ten minutes
Power it off if it’s still on. Don’t plug it in. Don’t put it in rice, that just adds starch to the corrosion. Don’t shake it or blow into the ports. Wipe the outside, take the case off, and drive to Dairy Road.
Salt water is the urgent one. Salt keeps conducting after the water is gone and eats the board within hours. Fresh water gives you more time, but every hour still matters.
What we actually do
We open the phone, disconnect the battery, and clean the board and connectors properly, not just dry them. Then we test everything: display, touch, charging, cameras, speakers, cellular. You get a straight answer about what survived and what it would take to fix what didn’t.
If the phone is a loss, we help you get your data off it if that’s still possible. We won’t sell you a repair that doesn’t make sense.
FAQ
My phone is water resistant. Why did it die?
Water resistance ratings assume fresh water, a new phone, and intact seals. Salt water, a prior drop, or a year of heat and sand can defeat them. One of our best reviews is from a visitor whose water-resistant iPhone was turned away by an Apple service center. We fixed it.
It turned on and seems fine. Should I still come in?
Yes, today if you can. Corrosion is slow and phones that seem fine after a swim often start failing a week or two later.
Can you recover my photos if the phone won’t turn on?
Often. If the board can be brought up even briefly we can help you back up to iCloud or a computer. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s possible.
